Delta Air Lines plans to operate just two of the 24 transatlantic routes it previously served with Boeing 757 aircraft during the summer 2027 season.
One of these routes reportedly carried a total of 109,122 passengers in both directions during its period of operation, achieving an average passenger load factor of 79.5%.
As a result, Delta’s planned transatlantic Boeing 757 operations will be limited to the Boston–Reykjavík and Minneapolis–Reykjavík routes.
Delta President Glen Hauenstein previously stated that the airline prefers to avoid deploying narrowbody aircraft on transatlantic services due to considerations related to its product offering and brand positioning.
Delta’s Boeing 757-200 fleet has declined from 100 aircraft in 2022 to approximately 70 today. Meanwhile, its Airbus A321neo fleet has expanded from just three aircraft to 110 over the same period.
